I had looked at netbooks for quite a while, and this one does everything that I could ask of it. While the casing was a little more plastic than I had expected, that simply makes it lighter and does not influence performance. In fact, after a week, it seemed natural, light, and rugged enough. The keyboard is easy enough to work with, although the arrow buttons take a little practice. The card reader is really easy, and well placed. The mouse pad has worked really well, and the three USB inputs allow for the addition of a mouse, if you need one. The two USB inputs on the right side of the deck are just a fraction too close, so if you don't like using a USB hub, that is something to think about, as not all input devices will work together there. The battery life has been great so far, leading to no problems when away from a power source, and the wireless picks up networks decently. I had heard that Windows 7 Starter was limited, but so far I haven't run into any problems at all; perhaps I need to run more programs at the same time, but why more than three -- I've had three open with no loss of productivity --, three being what I've heard is the limit? The TV was a throw in for me, and I probably wouldn't use it except in a storm, but with the antenna hooked up, it zipped right into a metro HD stream; I don't know what kind of range it has. All in all, this was a major plus on the productivity tool side as a purchase -- and I wonder what will happen when Google Talk for desktop comes along, but really, I use it more as a road computer with benefits than a social gadget ....
